Job Description Hotel Revival is hiring for a Chief Engineer Hotel Revival is a 107-key art-centric boutique hotel located in Baltimore's historic Mount Vernon neighborhood, featuring 19th-century architecture, lush parks, iconic churches, galleries, restaurants, and cultural venues. It showcases Baltimore by highlighting local products, the city's history, and native cuisine. This award-winning property is internationally recognized for its commitment to Baltimore's restoration and social impact. What you'll do : Maintain knowledge of hotel departments, including engineering, housekeeping, and food service operations. Ensure the hotel's maintenance and upkeep standards meet Hotel Revival’s standards. Proactively perform repairs, maintenance, alteration, and installation work safely and neatly following departmental procedures. Comply with insurance, local county, state, and federal codes, laws, and requirements. Identify defects, troubleshoot malfunctions, take corrective actions, and record them accordingly. Assist in training new department associates on equipment and hotel operations. Delegate and coordinate shift staff duties. Schedule and repair mechanical failures, including appliances, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing, following management directives. Operate hand and power tools safely. Participate in emergency response teams and become familiar with life safety and fire protection systems. Organize and complete preventive maintenance on guest rooms and equipment, ensuring safety hazards are addressed. Maintain positive relations with guests and staff. Supervise and participate in maintenance programs, scheduling and tracking work. Handle guest complaints courteously and promptly. Complete work assignments with minimal supervision and rework. Serve as a technical liaison to other departments. Follow up on service requests and communicate updates. Review utility reports and contribute to energy conservation efforts. Maintain inventory of spare parts and request replacements as needed. Test systems and be informed of operations for emergency handling. Understand fire sprinkler and emergency power systems. Be available for emergencies to protect guests, staff, and property. Log and interpret readings from meters and gauges. Participate in weekly walkthroughs and address deficiencies timely. Who you are : You hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field. You have at least 2 years of experience in engineering operations within hospitality. You have a proven track record of creating profitable and innovative engineering solutions. You have led multiple projects from conception to completion. You can interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals. You can write routine reports and correspondence. You are detail-oriented and take ownership of your work. You possess a strong work ethic and can work independently or in a team. You are an excellent communicator and lead by example.
