Job Title:
Paraprofessional Reports to:
Principal/Head of School Paraprofessionals assist teachers in providing high-quality, innovative education programs tailored to the needs of students in Boston Public Schools. They collaborate with staff to create an educational environment emphasizing quality and continuity. Responsibilities
Support direct instruction to children individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings Assist with classroom activities Prepare instructional materials Help set up and clean up classrooms Manage individual and classroom behavior using prescribed approaches Supervise students during field trips Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School/Principal Qualifications - Required
High School Diploma or GED 48 college credits or an Associate's Degree, or passing scores on ParaPro or WorkKeys assessments At least two years of experience working with young children Authorization to work in the U.S. by the first day of employment Preferred Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree Teaching certification or social work license Fluency in one of BPS's official languages (Spanish, Creole, Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Somali) is highly valued Terms
BTU, hourly rate for Paraprofessionals. Refer to the salary section on the Career Site for details. Salaries vary by Union and Grade/Step. School hours may vary, with some schools operating under the "Schedule A" Extended Learning Time agreement.
