Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Konica EXA Integration Engineer with a proven track record of implementing and managing bi-directional integrations through Konicas Data Access Layer (DAL). This individual will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining seamless data exchange between the Konica EXA platform and various healthcare systems, including EMRs, RIS, PACS, and third-party applications. The ideal candidate will have direct hands-on experience working with Konica EXA integrations, strong healthcare IT knowledge, and the ability to troubleshoot complex integration workflows in high-volume imaging environments.

Key Responsibilities Integration Development & Implementation

Configure and manage bi-directional data integrations using Konicas Data Access Layer. Connect EXA to EMRs, RIS, PACS, and other imaging and healthcare systems via HL7, DICOM, FHIR, and other industry standards. Develop and maintain custom integration scripts, APIs, and interfaces to support workflow automation.

System Analysis & Requirements Gathering

Work with clinical, IT, and vendor teams to define integration requirements and design specifications. Assess current workflows and recommend optimization strategies for data exchange.

Testing & Validation

Conduct end-to-end testing of integrations to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance. Validate data mapping, message formatting, and interoperability across systems.

Support & Troubleshooting

Monitor integration performance and resolve issues proactively. Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for all Konica EXA integration-related inquiries. Work closely with Konica support and client IT teams to resolve escalated technical issues.

Compliance & Security

Ensure all integrations meet HIPAA, HITECH, and organizational security policies. Maintain proper documentation of integration configurations, workflows, and change history.

Required Qualifications Direct, hands-on experience with Konica EXA Data Access Layer integrations (bi-directional) must be able to provide examples of past work. Strong knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, DICOM, FHIR, IHE profiles). Experience with healthcare IT systems including EMRs, RIS, PACS, and imaging modalities. Proficiency with integration tools, scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or similar), and API development. Solid understanding of clinical workflows in radiology and imaging environments. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications Experience integrating Konica EXA with high-volume hospital or imaging center environments. Knowledge of cloud-based deployments and secure data transmission protocols (VPN, SFTP, HTTPS). Familiarity with SQL databases and data transformation tools. Vendor certification in Konica EXA integration or related systems.

Education & Experience Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Health Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience). 3+ years of experience in healthcare system integration, with at least 1+ year directly involving Konica EXA DAL.
