SPA's IWSG seeks a Senior Database Engineer to support the Space Systems Development Department at the Naval Center for Space Technology, part of the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC. This role involves R&D for space and ground systems supporting Navy space programs, including C4ISR systems development and integration.
This is a full-time onsite position at NRL in Washington, DC, expected to be filled in late 2025. We offer a competitive total compensation package, including base pay, variable incentives, and benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid leave. Salary range: $140,000 - $180,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Qualifications
Required: Bachelors Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science At least 12 years of relevant experience DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility, maintained throughout employment Desired: Experience with software development methodologies, including structured and object-oriented programming, and current development tools Experience producing technical documentation, training, and system support throughout the software lifecycle Experience supporting complex Multi-INT processing from planning to maintenance Experience with enterprise computing, architecture design, and database development for analysis systems Knowledge of system architecture, BPM, workflow, and web-based development methodologies Experience developing databases for raw data and fusion products to support dissemination Understanding of terrestrial and space surveillance technologies and methodologies Ability to manage budgets and schedules, ensure compliance, and develop proposals
