No Purpose of the Job:

Develop and implement the memory care Life Connections Activity Program to ensure social, physical, intellectual, and recreational activities are available to enrich and engage the lives of our residents. Work closely with the care staff to communicate psychological and dementia-related issues. Financial Responsibility:

Moderate damage or loss is possible but can be prevented by performing duties with care and attention to detail. Responsibility for Contacts:

Contact with persons inside and outside the company, requiring resourcefulness, tact, confidentiality, and knowledge of policies and procedures. Equipment:

Office equipment (fax, copier, computer, telephone, calculator), company van. Complexity of Work:

Moderately complex work performed within established practices, requiring original thinking. Supervision:

Under general direction with periodic review. Responsibilities and Tasks: Essential Job Responsibilities Consistent and predictable attendance. Conduct admission assessments to determine residents' activity levels and preferences, communicate changes to nursing staff, and contribute to care plans. Monitor and intervene in psychological and dementia-related issues, communicating with care staff. Train staff on dementia-specific issues and programming, including basic training, challenging behaviors, and caregiver care. Decorate the community for special events, seasons, and holidays. Serve as liaison with families and lead family programs such as Support Connections, Family Connections, and Resources Connection. Control expenses within the approved budget. Conduct community tours, handle marketing duties, and address family concerns in the absence of the Director of Relations or Executive Director. Act as Manager on Duty on a rotation. Relieve receptionist for lunch and breaks. Transport residents to and from medical appointments, trips, and activities, ensuring safety and proper seatbelt use. Do not transport passengers in wheelchairs. Collaborate with the Home Office and promote social media presence. Develop and maintain a monthly newsletter and programming calendar. Training capability on dementia and activity programming. Social media management and newsletter publishing software skills. Education and Licenses:

Equivalent to a 4-year high school diploma plus 1 year of specialized training in dementia recreation. Experience:

1-3 years in dementia recreation. Special Requirements: Ability to communicate as per regulations. Considerate and accepting of residents. Appropriate attire and hygiene. Compliance with policies and procedures. Support resident rights and confidentiality. Participation in required training programs. No acceptance of gratuities.
