Job Title: Sterile Processing Team Lead (Ortho) Department: Sterile Processing Location: Methodist Hospital Schedule: Full Time, Days (7:00am - 3:30pm) Responsibilities
Clean, wrap, sterilize, store, and distribute surgical equipment and instruments. Assist clinical staff with surgical instrumentation and case preparation. Guide team members in instrumentation assembly and case cart preparation. Train staff on various skills and tasks. Mentor team members and provide technical guidance. Assist with scheduling, training, and inventory management. Coordinate with OR staff, surgeons, and vendors to ensure instrument readiness. Prepare case carts specific to Orthopedics and restock vendor implant trays. Qualifications
Candidates must have at least two active CRCST/CSPDT/CFER national certifications and/or be Certified Surgical Technologists. No provisional certifications accepted. High School Diploma or GED required. One national certification (CRCST, CSPDT, CFER, CST) and a second related to sterile processing (e.g., CIS, CSIP, CFER, CST, CHMM, CHL). 24 CE credits annually related to the CS field. Current certification as a Surgical Technologist if in a hybrid OR/SPD role. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required. 3-5 years of relevant experience. Demonstrated expert knowledge and skills as Tech III. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and endo instrumentation. Strong preceptor, mentoring, and coaching skills. Basic computer skills.
