Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Applicants must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit their EDRP application within four months of appointment. The award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply. Qualifications

To qualify, you must meet the basic requirements and any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending completion of training or licensing may be tentatively referred and selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are met. Current VA-employed physicians who met the requirements at their initial appointment are deemed qualified. Basic Requirements:

U.S. Citizenship. Non-citizens may only be appointed if qualified citizens cannot be recruited, per VA Policy. Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from an approved school. Current, full, and unrestricted medical license in the U.S. Residency training approved by the VA, leading to eligibility for board certification. Residency must be approved by ACGME, AOA, or equivalent, with at least five years of verified practice in the U.S. for non-US residencies. Enrolled residents in accredited programs may be appointed as Physician Resident Providers (PRPs), who must be fully licensed and only appointed on an intermittent or fee basis. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Preferred experience: 5 years supervisory experience in outpatient radiology. Physical requirements include lifting up to 35 pounds, moderate carrying, pulling, pushing, reaching, walking, standing, kneeling, and bending. Duties

Since 1946, Martinsburg VA Medical Center has served Veterans in West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. The medical center offers comprehensive services including internal medicine, surgery, audiology, dental, mental health, and more. The position involves 60% outpatient care and 40% administrative duties, including supervision of imaging services, policy development, quality assurance, and clinical interpretation of radiologic examinations. The role may include performing fluoroscopic, CT, MRI, and nuclear medicine examinations, as well as participating in quality management activities and some interventional procedures.
