Job Description Civil Construction Project Engineer Education: Minimum 4-year Degree - Bachelor of Science in Engineering Field Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of site/civil construction experience, including 3 years as a lead on a major construction project. Experience with subgrade, subbase, coarse aggregate, concrete, asphalt, curbing, and underground utilities (stormwater, electrical duct banks, communications, etc.). Skilled in heavy civil engineering, airfield concrete pavement, and airfield power and lighting. Clearance and Qualifications: Must possess an active Common Access Card (CAC) for access to the government construction management database. Requires government security background check and drug testing. Position Location: Fort Drum, New York Computer Knowledge: Familiarity with tracking software such as Procore, ProjNet, Suretrak, or Ebuilder. Knowledge of RMS, Excel, Word, Adobe PDFs, Microsoft Projects, Primavera, and AutoCAD. Program Knowledge: Familiarity with USACE EM 385-1-1 and UFC requirements is a plus. Previous Employment Exposure: Experience with US Army, NAVFAC, DOD installations is a plus. Work Duration: Full-time, five days a week, eight hours per day. 80% field work and 20% reporting to the owners project management team. Day-to-Day Construction Responsibilities: Providing services related to site, civil, and structural work, including preparing daily QA reports, performing site surveys, documenting inspections, maintaining punch lists, monitoring testing and inspections, interpreting drawings and specifications, documenting activities, ensuring safety conformance, reviewing QC reports, and participating in startup and commissioning activities. Other Position Qualifications: Good written communication skills for reports and correspondence. Good oral communication skills for leadership and meetings. Strong organizational skills for managing documents. Ability to oversee quality assurance activities and resolve conflicts between owner and contractors. Ability to perform as a quality inspector ensuring conformance with specifications.
