Schedule: Full-time, Day shift, 7:00am - 3:30pm Job Summary: Following established conventions and guidelines, codes and abstracts the medical records of the facility's outpatient records, including ER and infusion cases. Assists with coding, leveling ERs, and charging infusion cases as needed. Ensures departmental accuracy and meets production standards. Reviews medical records to determine diagnoses and procedures, assigns ICD-10CM/PCS or CPT codes, and abstracts relevant information onto the medical record abstract. Requirements: Formal working knowledge equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college) in a specialized field. 1-3 years of experience required. Certifications such as CCS, CPC-H, RHIT, or RHIA are required.
