The Division of Child Neurology at Childrens National Hospital is seeking a child neurologist at the assistant, associate, or full professor level to join our Program in Neuromuscular Medicine. The division includes over 40 child neurologists across subspecialties such as neuromuscular medicine, epilepsy, neuro-oncology, neurogenetics, and more. Our mission is to achieve excellence in clinical care, education, and research.
Clinical responsibilities include outpatient care for patients with neuromuscular disorders, with potential inpatient or consult duties. The neuromuscular program features a weekly multidisciplinary muscular dystrophy clinic involving various specialties. The program participates in clinical trials and collaborates with research institutes like NIH on neuromuscular research. Inpatient and outpatient electrodiagnostic studies (EMG/NCV) are available.
Teaching responsibilities involve supervising neurology trainees, pediatric house officers, and medical students. Academic opportunities include research, quality improvement, and clinical care innovation. Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, be board-certified or eligible in neurology, with qualifications in child neurology (ABPN), and additional training in Neuromuscular Disorders or Clinical Neurophysiology.
