QuEra Computing is seeking an accomplished and visionary leader to serve as Head of Quantum Error Correction Architecture. In this role, you will be responsible for defining and driving the overarching strategy for quantum error correction (QEC) on both current and next-generation neutral atom quantum computers. You will play a central role in shaping QuEras architecture of fault-tolerant quantum computers, collaborating closely with theoretical and experimental teams, and leading the realization of scalable, hardware-efficient QEC solutions tailored to QuEras unique platform. This is a rare opportunity to make foundational contributions at the intersection of quantum hardware, theory, and software advancing the field of error correction while enabling new capabilities for quantum algorithms and applications. Responsibilities include building and leading the long-term strategy and roadmap for quantum error correction across QuEras hardware platforms, ensuring alignment with company goals and quantum computing industry developments; designing and overseeing the development of hardware-efficient error correction, logical gate protocols, and decoding algorithms tailored to neutral atom array architectures; collaborating with hardware, control, and software engineering teams to integrate QEC protocols into real-time system operations; estimating and optimizing resource overhead and cost models for quantum computation under various error correction approaches; building and nurturing strategic collaborations with leading academic and industry researchers, contributing to and guiding the broader scientific community through high-impact publications and presentations; and providing technical leadership, mentorship, and strategic guidance to a growing team of researchers and developers working on quantum error correction. Qualifications include a PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; 5+ years experience in quantum computing and quantum error correction, with strong knowledge of decoding algorithms, fault-tolerant quantum logic, and resource estimation; proven track record of leadership in quantum error correction research and development, as evidenced by a strong publication record; and exceptional communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills. Preferred qualifications include experience designing error correction architectures for hardware platforms such as neutral atom, trapped ion, superconducting qubit, or photonic platforms; experience translating theoretical QEC protocols to hardware implementations and working with experimental teams; familiarity with high-performance, real-time software for quantum error correction and hardware control; and proven experience leading technical teams and coordinating large-scale, full-stack collaborations.
