Material Handler/Yard Worker
Shift time: 5:00AM-3:30PM and weekly pay: $24-26/hr Job Description: As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for transporting materials to the welding department, loading and unloading trucks, and moving materials from the shop to the yard. You will occasionally work outdoors and should be comfortable dressing warmly during the winter. This position involves operating a heavy-duty forklift capable of lifting up to 36,000 lbs, so candidates must be adept at handling large forklifts. Responsibilities: Operate a forklift, jib crane, and overhead hoist, ensuring proper and safe rigging of lifts and movement of loads. Utilize forklifts indoors and outdoors to load and unload materials across departments, maintain job lanes, organize, and transport inventory. Unload and receive incoming LTL and Flatbed Trucks, and freight from the Waconia facility; pull assembly parts and stage by job, storing raw materials appropriately. Pull materials needed for production and complete paperwork to relieve inventory and assign time. Monitor and organize indoor and outdoor inventory, ensuring racks and equipment piles are orderly. Maintain accurate project documentation such as bills of materials or parts sales orders. Verify received item counts against packing lists, report discrepancies to the supervisor, and deliver verified packing lists. Label incoming items with company part numbers, if applicable. Adhere to safety standards and use personal protective equipment at all times. Keep the material storage area and yard clean, organized, stocked, and consolidated. Assist with fabrication, grinding, and manufacturing tasks as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills: 2+ years of forklift operation experience. Experience with loading and unloading equipment. Proficiency in using reach trucks, pallet jacks, and sit-down forklifts. Experience in shipping and receiving. Strong computer skills Why Work Here?
