Dispatcher/Planner

We are on the hunt for a skilled Dispatcher/Planner with a minimum of five years interstate with military moving dispatching/planning experience to join our Operations Department. What You'll Do: Responsibilities include: Fostering a team-oriented work environment and maintaining positive relationships with our H.U.N.K.S. (our crew members!), clients, and sales staff. Must have experience utilizing military and other load boards, accepting shipments, and a comprehensive understanding of all necessary paperwork for each job based on its class rating. Reviewing and coordinating daily operational requirements, then assigning crews and resources accordingly. Ensuring all crews are dispatched in a timely manner in compliance with our dispatch schedule. Maintaining constant contact with on-site team Captains as necessary to ensure an efficient and effective service experience for our clients while ensuring we are in full compliance from both an FMCSA and military rules and regulations. Managing policies, programs, and procedures for dispatch operations, including schedules, routes, assignment of drivers and vehicles, and other operational activities. Analyzing proposed schedules and rates, initiating the preparation and distribution of proposed trip schedule changes, and submitting analyses of data and rescheduling recommendations. Working within Safety & Compliance to ensure our team Captains/drivers comply with regulations, permit requirements, licensing, and driver qualifications from a state, federal and military perspective. Monitor the proficiency of our crews and recommend awesome process improvements and training solutions to make our service even better. Performing other duties as assigned to keep our operations running smoothly. Foster a team-oriented work environment and maintain positive relationships with crew members, customers, sales coordinators, and sales staff. Review and coordinate daily operations requirements and assign crews and resources accordingly. Ensure all crews are dispatched in a timely manner in compliance with the dispatch schedule. Maintain contact with on-site supervisors as necessary to ensure an efficient and effective service experience for the client. Additionally, monitor and interrupt ELD reports to ensure our teams are on track for their jobs. Manage policies, programs, and procedures for dispatch operations, including schedules, rates, routes, assignment of drivers and vehicles, and other operational activities. Analyze proposed schedules and rates, initiate preparation, and distribution of proposed trip schedule changes, and submit analyses of data and rescheduling recommendations. Work within Safety & Compliance regulations and contractual agreements to ensure vendor driver fleet suppliers compliance with regulations, permit requirements, licensing, and driver qualifications. Coordinate with a variety of military warehouses and TSP's to arrange SIT. Collaborate with the VP Long Distance to monitor the proficiency of the crew and recommend process improvements and training solutions to enhance service to the client. Performs other duties as assigned. What You Bring: Experience includes: High school diploma, or GED required. Minimum of five years' experience Dispatching/Planning household goods and/or military shipments. Must be fully versed in accepting jobs from military and other load boards. Ability to read, interpret documents and apply safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, FMCSA protocols and procedure manuals. Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate with drivers and helpers to ensure service is provided in an efficient and effective manner.
