Patient Care Role
Performs patient care activities as a member of the healthcare delivery team; performs office and clinical procedures. Reports to Director of Nursing and does not supervise staff members. What You'll Be Doing
Supports, and performs according to, approved policies and procedures. Supports risk management and participates in programs directed to patient and staff safety. Considers patient rights in performance of job duties and responsibilities. Contributes to the quality management process; identifies role and contributions upon request Reports observed or suspected violations, hazards, and noncompliance according to policy. Observes safety measures in performance of job duties and responsibilities. Responds to emergency situations with competence and composure. Interactions are respectful and courteous. Communicates with patients effectively and professionally using a translator when necessary. Documents that information received from the patient is disseminated to the appropriate people or departments. Accurately assesses and interprets age-specific patient data. Considers age-specific patient requirements when responding to emergency situations. Maintains and promotes professional competence through continuing education and other learning experiences. Communicates information about the patient's status to others responsible for patient care. Performs assigned activities to provide safe and individualized care. Recognizes patient's need for support and provides for privacy and confidentiality. Prepares equipment/supplies needed for care of patients and for performing diagnostic tests. Prepares surgical, procedural, or recovery rooms for patient use before each case and at the end of each surgical day. Maintains inventory levels and accurate records. What We Expect from You Training/experience in patient care preferred Understanding of housekeeping requirements, including sterile environments, preferred Training or experience in business office activities preferred Travel to other clinics as needed Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have thorough knowledge in computer information systems.
