Construction Laborer

The technician will support remediation work that includes construction tasks such as clearing and grubbing, installation of erosion control materials, soil excavation, grading, dewatering, backfilling, truck scaling, equipment decontamination, and restoration efforts. The technician will assist in spotting equipment operators, perform torch cutting on steel, and carry out any other general labor tasks on the work site, including carrying materials, dirt work, and shoveling material. Responsibilities

Support remediation work through various construction tasks. Assist equipment operators by spotting and performing torch cutting on steel. Carry materials and conduct dirt work and shoveling. Engage in soil excavation, grading, and dewatering. Participate in backfilling and restoration efforts. Conduct equipment decontamination and truck scaling. Essential Skills

Previous construction/civil experience working outside moving dirt. Ability to lift 75 lbs. independently. Willingness to travel 75% of the time, with weekends at home. Experience operating heavy equipment and environmental machinery. Additional Skills & Qualifications

Operating experience once hired full-time. 40 Hour Hazwoper certification is advantageous but not required for this project. Environmental experience is beneficial. Why Work Here?

Work takes place outdoors in a construction environment, exposing employees to varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and potential cool temperatures. The working environment is dirty and involves exposure to the elements. Expect to work through wet weather conditions. Dress attire includes steel toe boots, jeans without holes, and a shirt with sleeves. Working hours are Monday to Friday with a start time between 5-7am, lasting for a 10-12 hour day. Saturday work is possible and expected. Out-of-town work includes 50-60+ hours per week, ensuring a minimum of 40 hours with 5-20 overtime hours each week. During winter, overtime hours will range from 5-10 per week. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, Indiana. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
