Job Summary: This role involves overseeing global, regional, branch, and MGS resources related to: Threshold tuning Optimization of rules tuning and filter platforms to enhance effectiveness and efficiency Creating and executing test cases and scripts for testing changes and releases Developing tailored business rules to reduce hit rates, preparing tuning data, and reviewing hit reduction strategies Identifying and mitigating sanctions risks through periodic risk assessments of algorithms and rules Qualifications: In connection with the Global Financial Crimes program, candidates should have: At least 6 years of experience designing, analyzing, testing, or validating BSA/AML models, OFAC sanctions, or AML name screening models Familiarity with implementing, testing, or evaluating sanctions compliance systems A proven track record in quantitative testing and statistical analysis techniques related to sanctions models, including name similarity matching, classification accuracy testing, machine learning, neural networks, fuzzy logic, decision trees, etc. Knowledge of current compliance rules and regulations from agencies such as the FRB, SEC, OCC, FATF, FinCEN, OFAC, and familiarity with USA PATRIOT Act, BSA/AML, and OFAC screening regulations Experience designing compliance program tuning and configuration methodologies, including detection scenario analytics and threshold testing Proficiency in programming platforms like SAS, Matlab, R, Python, SQL, VBA, etc. Familiarity with vendor models such as Hotscan, Actimize, RDC, Bridger Insight, ACE Pelican, TCH OFAC Screening, Fircosoft, SWIFT STS, FICO, Guardian Analytics, and ThreatMetrix Strong understanding of model risk management and regulatory requirements Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills Systemic thinking across enterprise functions Process-oriented approach with strategic development skills Attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to present at an executive level An enterprise risk management perspective Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analysis, or related fields. A Master’s or Doctoral degree is a plus. The typical base salary range is $126,000 to $164,000, depending on experience, skills, and location. The role may include discretionary bonuses and incentives.
