BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Common diagnoses/Types of patients ESRD, acute renal failure. Will treat in the acute hemodialysis suite and in the ICU 1:1; Peritoneal dialysis patients Experience or 'Must have' skills General acute care nursing competencies. In addition must have Dialysis specific competencies: AVF/AVG cannulation, CVC access, recognition and management of hemodialysis complications and emergencies; peritoneal dialysis site care and catheter care; peritoneal dialysis initiation and termination Are RNs required to titrate drips? Heparin Common titratable &/or set rate drips Set rate only: amiodarone, cardizem, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? Patients are on a tele monitor in the acute suite with Monitor tech reading strips. In the ICU they are on bedside and central monitoring Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios No RT Equipment (i.e., Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, vents, etc.) Vents, HiFlow, CPAP, BiPap - would be in ICU only with ICU RN and RT Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) 3 12-hour shifts per week Weekend Requirement Every other Saturday (max) Holiday Requirement rotate in with core staff? Is there Call or a Standby requirement? On call one night per week and every other Sunday (max) Floating Requirements? Cover both Bryan and College Station needs as assigned Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs provided?
