JOB DESCRIPTION
The Digital Media Manager is a strategic leader responsible for growing and optimizing Lakewood Church’s digital presence across multiple YouTube channels and streaming platforms. This role focuses on audience engagement, monetization, and overall digital media content strategy to enhance the impact of Lakewood Church, Joel Osteen Ministries, and related channels. By leveraging analytics, content optimization techniques, and monetization strategies, this position ensures digital platforms are effectively utilized to reach and engage audiences. The Digital Media Manager collaborates closely with production and technical teams but is not directly involved in video production or live stream technical setup.
This position reports directly to the Director of Marketing.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Strategic Channel Management
Oversee and set the overall strategy for Lakewood Church’s YouTube channels, ensuring alignment with growth and engagement objectives
Develop and implement content strategies that prioritize audience engagement and revenue generation, including live streaming initiatives
Leverage analytics to inform content strategy and optimize video performance, including live stream viewership and engagement data
Stay current with YouTube trends, algorithm changes, and best practices to enhance channel success
Ensure all digital content is optimized for SEO, engagement, and brand consistency
Monetization and Analytics
Lead the development and execution of monetization strategies across digital platforms, maximizing revenue potential
Identify and implement new revenue streams, such as advertising, sponsorships, merchandise sales, and channel memberships
Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to monetization, including ad revenue, CPM, click-through rates, and audience demographics
Utilize data insights to tailor monetization strategies, improving engagement and financial returns
Ensure compliance with YouTube’s monetization policies and best practices
Live Stream Management
Oversee the distribution of video content, including live streaming events and on-demand uploads
Plan and coordinate live stream schedules for weekend services, special events, and major initiatives
Collaborate with technical teams to ensure seamless live stream execution
Monitor live streams in real-time to address any content or technical issues
Analyze live stream performance metrics to refine future broadcasts
Collaboration and Leadership
Work cross-functionally with marketing, creative, production, and technical teams to ensure alignment with digital media objectives
Provide guidance and mentorship to the Digital Media team, fostering professional development
Prepare and present performance reports to leadership, offering key insights and recommendations
Lead and manage the digital media team, providing vision, strategic direction, and execution oversight
Oversee daily digital media tasks, ensuring efficient execution of strategies and workflows
Conduct regular team meetings to review performance, set goals, and discuss new initiatives
Manage project timelines, priorities, and deliverables to ensure successful execution
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Regular attendance at Church services and classes
Serving as a Prayer Partner or as a volunteer in any ministry of the Church, and
Serving our community through local outreaches from time to time when needed by the Church

Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to develop and implement data-driven content strategies
Proficiency in utilizing analytics tools such as Google Analytics, YouTube Analytics, and Social Blade
Exceptional project management skills, capable of managing multiple initiatives simultaneously
Proven expertise in optimizing content for monetization, including ad revenue, sponsorships, and memberships
Strong experience in data analytics and leveraging insights to refine content and monetization strategies
Proven track record in managing live streams and optimizing digital content strategies
Effective leadership and mentoring skills, fostering professional development within the team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting insights and collaborating with teams
Deep understanding of YouTube’s algorithm, SEO best practices, and audience engagement tactics
Experience in live stream management, including scheduling, optimization, and performance tracking
Ability to work collaboratively across departments to ensure digital media aligns with broader marketing objectives
Strong ability to interpret data and analytics to drive decision-making and content strategy
Experience managing advertising revenue and integrating sponsorship opportunities effectively
Experience managing live streams
Knowledge of digital rights management and compliance with platform policies
Familiarity with video editing software and content creation tools to guide optimization strategies
Ability to troubleshoot digital content issues and work with technical teams to ensure high-quality media execution
Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning related to digital media initiatives
Ability to lead and manage employee development and performance
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
2+ years management experience leading a team of employees
Relevant certifications in digital marketing, content strategy, or digital media management is preferred
