Job Description
Overview:
This role will support a team providing acquisition and financial support to the Department of Energy (DOE), Naval Reactors Headquarters (NRHQ), the program office responsible for overseeing the nation's nuclear shipbuilding. NRHQ is a unique program, spanning both the DOE and the Department of Defense (DOD). This role will support the Virginia-class Submarine Program (O8C). This position will be located at the Navy Yard in Washington D.C., with approximately 20% remote work.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate all nuclear industrial base monitoring efforts for the Virginia-class Submarine Program.
Collect, analyze, and prepare reports on industrial base and shipbuilding improvement efforts, Submarine Industrial Base investments, advanced technology development, and workforce development to support shipbuilding plans.
Assist in developing policy recommendations, talking points, briefs, and related materials for senior management decisions.
Communicate and develop strategies with supervisors, shipbuilding, program offices, and other defense agencies for collection, analysis, and reporting of procurement, contract/subcontract administration, nuclear material management, and cost control information.
Support tracking of funds allocated for enhancing the nuclear and shipbuilding industrial bases.
Provide project management oversight for industrial base projects, including earned value tracking, milestone tracking, and project health assessment.
Evaluate and prioritize industrial base projects.
Coordinate efforts between technical and acquisition programs and processes.
Participate in DOE, DOD, and interagency working groups related to the defense industrial base.
Qualifications:
Must possess a minimum of a DOD Secret clearance or DOE L clearance; an active DOD Top Secret (TS) or DOE Q clearance is preferred.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in similarly complex roles.
Experience in defense industrial base, nuclear industrial base, shipbuilding industrial base, supply chain, project management, or DOE/DOD acquisition.
Experience with dashboards (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI) and programming skills are a plus.
Excellent writing skills, critical thinking, attention to detail, and reliability are required.
Strong understanding of classified document handling requirements.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong data analysis skills.
