The Director of Business Development (DBD) for Dedicated Transportation is responsible for leading new business pursuits and the expansion or renewal of existing accounts. A successful DBD will manage the complete sales cycle, including lead generation, prospect qualification, and leading cross-functional pursuit teams. They will provide clear direction on deal strategy, including pricing, service offerings, value propositions, and presentation methods. The focus of this role is on securing new sales contracts, team selling, and solution selling. The individual will have a sales quota for which they are accountable. Essential Functions
Lead deal pursuits and create deal and pricing proposals Prospect new brands and develop industry networks to build a sales pipeline Explore cross-sell opportunities where applicable Negotiate contracts and close deals Provide ongoing commercial support for closed accounts and explore cross-selling opportunities with existing clients. Further education on vertical markets for consultative selling is encouraged. Additional Responsibilities
Focus on one vertical or business unit; can assist with other deals as directed by sales leadership Work towards a proposal of $120 million over a 5-year period Sign at least one cross-sell opportunity with SCS / DTS Adhere to Ryder’s Policies and Procedures, including Travel and Expense policies Perform other duties as assigned Skills and Abilities

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field Master's degree (MBA) preferred Minimum of 5 years of sales experience, with at least 3 years meeting quota and 2 years at 75% of quota Experience selling supply chain solutions and achieving quota attainment multiple times within 60 months Knowledge of services, costs, pricing, and value propositions Applicants from California, Connecticut, Colorado, Hawaii, New Jersey, New York City, and Washington: Salary ranges from $140,000 to $160,000, determined based on various factors including experience, education, and internal equity.
