Incumbent serves as the Chief, Security Management Division for Headquarters, DoDEA. Responsible for the oversight of all Security Programs. Represents the DoDEA Director on Security Programs at committee boards and working groups. Serves as the Agency focal point for developing and implementing policies, procedures, and career development/progression. Oversees the development of Agency-level Security plans. Conducts staff assistance and security assessment visits to DoDEA facilities. Develops performance standards and evaluates work performance. Exercises discretionary authority to approve the allocation and distribution of funds affecting the organization's budget. Requirements include: Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement. Proof of U.S. Citizenship required. Direct deposit of pay is required. One year probationary period may be required. Appointment subject to a suitability/fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation. One year supervisory probation period may be required. This position requires a Tier 5 (T5) investigation with a Top Secret Clearance. This position is a Testing Designated position subject to applicant testing and random drug testing. You will be required to sign a DA Form 5019 requiring participation in random drug urinalysis testing. You may be required to sign a transportation agreement. May be required to submit to screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and are subject to random testing thereafter. Appointment to this position may be contingent upon a negative drug test result. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: developing policies, procedures, or strategies for a global security program, developing executive budget plans for a security program; researching security program techniques to implement program improvements; performing a full-range of supervisory duties such as assigning work, setting short and long-term goals; preparing schedules; establishing performance standards; evaluating performance of subordinates; or interviewing candidates. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
