R&D Chemist
We are hiring an R&D Chemist here in the Columbus area! This role will primarily be supporting a new powder coatings laboratory in the Northeast Columbus area and we are looking for someone with at least 5-7 years of experience performing testing on powder coating products. Shift: 1st shift Monday - Friday, and overtime will be minimal, if at all. Pay: This is a salaried position and will be paying at least $100k/year depending on level of experience Description: Develop and formulate new powder coating products to meet customer and market demands. Improve existing formulations to enhance performance, sustainability, or cost-effectiveness. Conduct lab-scale experiments and coordinate with production for scale-up trials. Perform application and performance testing to ensure product quality and compliance. Maintain detailed records of formulations, testing results, and process improvements. Collaborate with Quality Control, Sales, and Production teams on technical problem-solving and customer-specific solutions. Stay informed on industry trends, raw materials, and regulatory changes to support innovation and compliance. Ensure lab safety procedures are followed and participate in equipment maintenance and calibration. Qualifications: Prefer candidates with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or a related field. Would potentially consider candidates without the completed Bachelors if they meet other requirements. MUST have at least 5-7 years of experience performing laboratory testing on powder coatings.
