Ascend Wellness Holdings (AWH) of Wharton, NJ is looking to hire a Dispensary General Manager .

The Role
The General Manager is responsible for executing retail store sales, operations, and responsibilities to deliver consistent, positive customer experiences and drive profitable sales. This involves ensuring all responsibilities align with Ascend Wellness Holdings and its values, supporting customers and team members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Recruit, hire, and staff the dispensary with top talent.
- Coach, develop, and maximize the success of all associates.
- Ensure onboarding, training, and education are delivered.
- Analyze key business metrics, create action plans, and gain team buy-in.
- Lead communication through weekly managers meetings and monthly team meetings.
- Manage P&L by driving sales growth and managing expenses.
- Oversee workforce management and inventory activities, resolving discrepancies per state law.
- Ensure operational policies and procedures are followed.
- Maintain technology solutions and ensure compliance with security policies.
- Become an expert in cannabis laws, enforce compliance, and stay updated on regulatory changes.
- Develop internal compliance controls and foster relationships with regulators and law enforcement.
- Ensure timely execution of reports and audits.
- Focus on customer loyalty, visual standards, and engagement strategies.
- Oversee product purchasing, website, and menu updates.
- Lead change and innovation in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain flexible schedule with open availability.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manage and motivate staff, including hiring, firing, performance management, and scheduling.
Competencies
- Success managing multiple locations' P&L responsibility.
- Knowledge or willingness to learn cannabis laws and compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Respectful, trustworthy, and ethical conduct.
Education, Experience, and Eligibility
- Must be 21 or older.
- Bachelor’s degree and over five years' leadership experience in high-volume retail or equivalent.
