Freelance Production assistant/Assistant Director

Job Title: Production Assistant

The Production Assistant is responsible for various television production duties required to record scenes for live and recorded broadcasts. This is a freelance position.

Responsibilities:

1. Composes and frames camera shots, applying the technical aspects of light, lenses, and camera settings to achieve the effects sought by directors.
2. Adjusts positions and controls of cameras to change focus, exposure, and lighting as requested by the director.
3. Operates studio and remote cameras during live broadcasts.
4. Confers with directors and crew to discuss sequences, effects, camera movements, and lighting requirements.
5. Sets up cameras and related equipment.
6. Tests, cleans, maintains, and repairs camera equipment.
7. Produces and creates graphics for the newscast.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Skills:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with computers and office equipment such as telephones, copiers, scanners, and fax machines.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
