Role - ServiceNow Architect

Location - Bethesda, MD

Start Date: Immediate

Position Type: Full Time + Benefits (medical, 401K, PTO etc)

Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced ServiceNow CMDB & Service Mapping Architect to lead enterprise-wide Configuration Management and Service Mapping initiatives.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and own the CMDB and Service Mapping strategy , architecture, and roadmap across multiple business units and platforms.
  • Lead end-to-end Service Mapping engagements — from discovery and dependency mapping to certification and operational handover.
  • Serve as the technical lead and design authority , reviewing solutions from developers and integration teams to ensure alignment with architectural standards.
  • Establish data governance models , relationship mapping standards, and lifecycle management processes for CIs.
  • Conduct CMDB maturity assessments , recommend improvements, and enable CMDB health dashboards and KPIs.
  • Work with stakeholders in ITSM, ITOM, SecOps, and App teams to drive adoption and ensure data completeness.
  • Lead integration design for third-party systems
  • Develop and maintain accelerators, frameworks, and templates for quicker rollout across projects.
  • Mentor junior developers and lead technical workshops.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – CMDB and Discovery (Mandatory)
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (Preferred)
  • 12+ years in IT, 4+ years focused on ServiceNow CMDB & Service Mapping
  • Hands-on experience with Pattern Designer , MID Server architecture , Horizontal & Top-Down Discovery
  • Deep understanding of ITIL , Configuration Management , and Service Management
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and documentation skills

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working with large enterprise CMDBs (100K+ CIs)
  • Prior experience with cloud-native infrastructure discovery (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and container-based discovery
  • Exposure to ServiceNow AIOps, HAM/SAM, or SecOps

Education Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
