Management Analyst – Subject Matter Expert (SME)
T his role requires demonstrated expertise in acquisition strategy, program analysis, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and performance evaluation across Department of Defense (DoD) portfolios. The SME will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, often supporting high-visibility and mission-critical programs within SAF/AQ and across Headquarters Air Force (HAF) organizations.
This position will involve providing high-level advisory services, analysis, and recommendations on acquisition programs, policy development, and strategic initiatives. Candidates must be comfortable working in dynamic environments, independently or within integrated teams, and engaging with senior civilian and military officials.
- Provide expert-level guidance on acquisition lifecycle strategy, planning, and execution
- Support strategic planning, program integration, and decision-making activities at the Secretariat level
- Lead or contribute to high-impact studies, evaluations, and policy development
- Facilitate communication and coordination between SAF/AQ, PEOs, and external stakeholders
- Develop reports, briefings, and analyses for senior leadership, including the Assistant Secretary and Military Deputy
- Interpret and apply DoD acquisition policy, guidance, and governance frameworks
- Deliver quick-turn analyses and briefings in response to urgent tasking
Required Skills/Education: Strategic planning, government acquisition, DoD program management, stakeholder coordination, performance analytics
Years of Experience: 15+ years
Certifications: PMP or DAWIA Level III preferred
