Macdonald & Company are partnered with an entrepreneurial real estate investment firm to appoint a Director or Vice President of Multifamily Acquisitions to sit in their office in Salt Lake City, UT.

With $2Billion+ in AUM, the firm own assets across Multifamily, Industrial, Retail, and others. Their growth strategy is to acquire Multifamily real estate across the Sunbelt, Mountain West, Southeast, and Southwest markets, across a spectrum of value-add, core, core+, workforce, and affordable housing.

The Role

The Vice President of Acquistions (Multifamily) will proactively source and underwrite deals across key markets, with support from a small team of analysts.

Role Responsibilities

• Proactively source new multifamily acquisition opportunities through broker relationships, direct outreach, off-market initiatives, and market intelligence.
• Lead the identification of high-potential investment opportunities, with deal profiles inclusive of core, core+, value-add, workforce housing, and LIHTC assets.
• Direct underwriting efforts, financial modeling, and investment committee presentations; ensure thorough evaluation of property- and market-level risks and returns.
• Negotiate terms, coordinate with legal counsel, and oversee due diligence and closing processes. Ensure optimal capital structuring in alignment with firm targets.
• Partner with internal teams in asset management, finance, and property operations to ensure smooth onboarding of acquired assets and alignment with business plans.
• Monitor economic and regulatory developments in target markets and recommend strategic adjustments. Evaluate new markets for potential expansion based on data-driven insights.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to team growth by sharing market knowledge, deal experience, and underwriting expertise.
