About The Opportunity
We’re hiring on behalf of AKUA Behavioral Health , an employee-owned behavioral healthcare company making a difference across California. They’re seeking a sharp, business-minded Senior Finance Manager to take ownership of day-to-day accounting, financial strategy, and compliance, with the added benefit of building long-term wealth through AKUA’s company-funded ESOP .

About The Role
This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in structured, numbers-driven environments. You’ll manage the accounting team, produce clean, accurate reporting, and help maximize revenue and efficiency across operations—all while supporting a meaningful mission.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day financial operations, including AP, reconciliations, and compliance
• Supervise the accounting team and maintain internal controls
• Prepare and deliver financial reports for Medi-Cal contracts, banking partners, and ESOP compliance
• Improve and document processes for billing, tracking, and reporting
• Support budget planning and contribute to strategic financial decisions
  

• Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred)
• 2+ years of healthcare finance experience, ideally Medi-Cal or behavioral health
• Proficient in QuickBooks, Excel, and financial modeling/reporting
• Strong communicator with a knack for explaining complex data to diverse teams
• Highly organized and capable of managing competing deadlines
• Detail-obsessed and proactive—someone who gets ahead of problems, not behind them
  

• $114,000 base salary + up to $36,000 performance bonus
• KPI: Net Profit / Net Operating Income (NOI)
