Job Overview:
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Associate Attorney to join its Trademark & Copyright Practice Group. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-level intellectual property matters for name-brand clients, including trademark prosecution, opposition proceedings, anti-counterfeiting enforcement, and broader IP strategy. Candidates must have at least 5 years of relevant experience and a strong command of domestic and international trademark law. This is a full-time, in-office position with several location options across the U.S.
Location:
Duties:
- Manage U.S. and international trademark prosecution and enforcement matters
- Handle proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB)
- Develop and implement global anti-counterfeiting strategies
- Provide counsel on brand protection, licensing, and IP portfolio management
- Advise clients on IP enforcement, clearance, and litigation risks
- Draft legal opinions, memoranda, and agreements related to trademarks and copyrights
- Support transactional IP work and collaborate with cross-practice teams
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in trademark and copyright law
- Background in TTAB litigation, opposition/cancellation actions, and global IP strategy
- Familiarity with IP enforcement tactics, including cease-and-desist practices and customs enforcement
- Ability to manage complex trademark portfolios and client communications independently
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Strong academic credentials required
Certifications:
- Admission to the bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- Ability to become admitted in the office’s jurisdiction, if not already licensed
Skills:
- Excellent legal writing and analytical reasoning skills
- High attention to detail with strong organizational abilities
- Effective communication and client-relations skills
- Proactive, self-motivated approach to legal problem-solving
- Experience with IP docketing systems and case management tools preferred
