We’re actively seeking a talented developer to join our Inforce Modeling team within the Enterprise Actuarial Modeling function in Newport Beach, CA or Omaha, NE.
This role is on-site at either our Newport Beach headquarters or Omaha office.
As a Senior Actuary - Prophet Modeler, you’ll lead Prophet model development for Pacific Life’s products and collaborate with teams across Pricing, Valuation, ALM, Hedging, and IT infrastructure to enhance modeling and reporting capabilities. You will be part of a team of fourteen professionals, including software and data engineers, data scientists, and fellow actuaries.
How You’ll Help Move Us Forward
- Develop models for annuity, life, and institutional products.
- Perform development, testing, debugging, and peer reviews of Prophet models.
- Evaluate and recommend modeling strategies.
- Lead initiatives to improve existing models.
- Partner with IT to develop effective modeling solutions.
- Mentor junior staff on methodology and implementation.
- Support Model Risk Management initiatives and documentation.
The Experience You Bring
- Bachelor’s in actuarial science, computer science, finance, mathematics, or related field.
- 4+ years’ actuarial experience.
- 6+ years’ experience in actuarial modeling and coding.
- FSA Designation.
- Proficiency with Prophet, pricing, valuation, and ALM modeling.
- Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills.
What Makes You Stand Out
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience with Python, Visual Basic, SQL.
- Knowledge of Azure DevOps, JIRA, pipelines, AWS.
- Advanced Prophet expertise.
- Experience with annuity, institutional, and life products.
- Knowledge of ALM/Hedging.
- CERA/CFA designation.

The salary range for this role is $163,620.00 - $199,980.00, depending on experience and location. Benefits start Day 1, including health, paid time off, parental leave, and a 401(k) plan.
