$174,800.00/yr - $271,446.00/yr

Your Role
Lead the actuarial pricing team for a unique group of business units: Construction Middle Market, Retail Energy & Multinational. Coverages in these areas include workers compensation, general liability, auto liability/physical damage, umbrella, contractor professional liability, subcontractor default, defense base act and foreign casualty. This position reports to SVP, Actuarial Pricing.

• Business Leader: This role will grow & establish our upper middle market casualty business within the construction, oil & gas & defense contractors. Working closely with BU leadership and strategic analytics to create new actuarial analyses and large, middle market processes that provide actionable information to BU leaders to guide strategy.
• Technical Pricing: Establish and improve technical pricing by developing accurate assessments of risk; this will include both refining the current structure as well as finding new predictors and building new models.
• Profitability Reviews: Provide insight to BU leadership and senior executives on the current health of the book, including finding meaningful differentiation between different products and segments, as well as growth opportunities.
• Focus on an exciting variety of specialty products like professional liability for contractors, subcontractor default, defense base act & foreign casualty, as well as traditional casualty lines for middle market construction & oil & gas risks.

Key Evaluation Criteria

• Vice Presidents generally are FCAS, have significant and broad industry experience with demonstrated success independently turning questions and problems into solutions, managing teams, and partnering with business unit executives.
• Experience in construction risk pricing is a plus.
• This role highly values strong entrepreneurial skills, building new and innovative underwriting tools and advanced research projects.
• Superior communication skills are important for partnering with underwriters and presenting to business leaders.
  

For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
For NYC and Jersey City: $174,800 - $271,446/year

• Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
