Senior VP of Finance – Hybrid (Miami, FL)

Location: Miami, Florida (Hybrid: ~2 days remote, 3 days onsite)

About the Role

As Senior VP of Finance, you’ll be instrumental in steering financial strategy, ensuring fiscal integrity, and advancing organizational goals through leadership and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all finance and accounting operations, including:
• General ledger, cash & investment reconciliations
• Fixed asset management and revenue recognition
• Ensure timely and accurate financial transactions, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulations
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports, highlighting trends, cost-saving opportunities, and operational efficiencies
• Oversee collection efforts, sub-ledger adjustments, and customized donor financial analyses
• Strengthen internal controls, maintain policy documentation, and optimize financial systems for accuracy and scalability
• Develop annual and semi-annual organizational budgets, incorporating strategic input and financial forecasts
• Manage annual audit processes and regulatory filings; support grant-related fiscal responsibilities
• Produce comprehensive annual financial reports and maintain clear communication with fiscal agents
• Build and mentor a high-performing finance team, overseeing recruitment, performance, and development

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)
• CPA certification or equivalent is a plus
• 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience with leadership responsibilities
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial analysis, risk management, and ERP optimization
• Nonprofit experience is a strong advantage (but not required)
• Advanced skills with accounting systems, Excel, and general office tools
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities
• Excellent management skills, comfortable in public speaking, and fluency in Spanish is a bonus
