Base pay range

$150,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr

Position Summary

Korn Ferry has partnered with a growing Private Equity firm looking for an Assistant Fund Controller which will play a critical role in managing the financial reporting and operations of the firm’s investment funds. Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will work closely with third-party fund administrators, auditors, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate fund reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee fund accounting and reporting, including capital calls, distributions, management fees, waterfalls, and NAV calculations
  • Review quarterly and annual financial statements prepared by the fund administrator
  • Coordinate and manage annual audits and tax return preparation with external auditors and tax advisors
  • Monitor and reconcile capital activity, investor allocations, and fund performance metrics
  • Assist with treasury functions including cash flow management and forecasting across fund entities
  • Maintain and enhance internal control procedures and ensure compliance with fund agreements and regulatory requirements
  • Support fundraising efforts by preparing data room materials, responding to due diligence requests, and preparing financial analyses
  • Work with the CFO on strategic initiatives, including system implementations, fund structuring, and operational improvements
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and analyses for internal stakeholders and investors
  • Manage investor reporting deliverables including capital account statements, quarterly letters, and performance reports

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in private equity fund accounting, public accounting (Big 4 or similar), or fund administration
  • Strong understanding of private equity fund structures, LP/GP accounting, and partnership allocations
  • Proficiency with fund accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
