Our client, a respected mutual insurance company with a strong legacy and collaborative culture, is seeking a seasoned lead actuary to serve as a strategic advisor and high-functioning individual contributor. Reporting directly to the Chief Actuary, you will influence key areas of the business, including pricing, reserving, and enterprise risk management. This is a unique opportunity to operate at the intersection of analytics and strategy, helping shape business decisions in a flat, cross-functional organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead pricing and reserving efforts, including quarterly reserve reviews and rate indications for specific personal and commercial lines products across multiple states.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners in underwriting, marketing, and executive leadership to influence product strategy, business planning, and reinsurance evaluations.
• Serve as a mentor and senior peer within the actuarial department, supporting junior team members and exemplifying technical excellence and sound judgment.

Qualifications

• Fellowship in the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) and approximately 10–20 years of property & casualty actuarial experience.
• Proficiency in pricing, reserving, and rate review work; hands-on experience with tools such as ResQ, Akur8, and DataRobot is desirable.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex actuarial analyses into actionable business insights; collaborative mindset with a strategic perspective.
