Our client, a respected mutual insurance company with a strong legacy and collaborative culture, is seeking a seasoned lead actuary to serve as a strategic advisor and high-functioning individual contributor. Reporting directly to the Chief Actuary, you will influence key areas of the business, including pricing, reserving, and enterprise risk management. This is a unique opportunity to operate at the intersection of analytics and strategy, helping shape business decisions in a flat, cross-functional organization. Responsibilities Lead pricing and reserving efforts, including quarterly reserve reviews and rate indications for specific personal and commercial lines products across multiple states. Collaborate with cross-functional partners in underwriting, marketing, and executive leadership to influence product strategy, business planning, and reinsurance evaluations. Serve as a mentor and senior peer within the actuarial department, supporting junior team members and exemplifying technical excellence and sound judgment. Qualifications Fellowship in the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) and approximately 10–20 years of property & casualty actuarial experience. Proficiency in pricing, reserving, and rate review work; hands-on experience with tools such as ResQ, Akur8, and DataRobot is desirable. Strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex actuarial analyses into actionable business insights; collaborative mindset with a strategic perspective.
