About The Role
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) reports to our National Director of Field Medical. MSLs are field-based healthcare professionals engaging in compliant scientific exchange and providing education on disease states, responding to inquiries related to our products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage key opinion leader (KOL) optometrists and ophthalmologists in a designated region, ensuring compliant conduct per PhRMA and Tarsus guidelines.
- Serve as the primary medical affairs KOL point of contact for scientific exchange, including virtual and live interactions.
- Gather and prioritize insights from field exchanges to inform medical strategy.
- Educate optometric and ophthalmic centers, and provide resources for disease state education in optometry schools and residency programs.
- Instruct on investigator-initiated trials and medical information procedures upon request.
- Identify and recommend KOLs for projects based on expertise and interests.
- Plan KOL engagements and participate in scientific sessions at medical meetings.
- Liaise with local optometric and ophthalmic societies.
- Present scientific evidence to payers and lead medical affairs initiatives.
- Participate in training, insights gathering, and process optimization.
- Host scientific exchanges and labs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support clinical trials as needed.
- Manage territory budget, metrics, KOL mapping, and CRM entries.
Factors to Success:
- Doctorate of optometry, MD, PharmD, PhD with eye care expertise.
- 3+ years in eye care as an MSL or clinical experience with industry exposure.
- Strong emotional intelligence, presentation, communication, and data analysis skills.
- Ability to plan, manage workload, and work independently.
Additional Details:
- Territory includes TX, LA; ideally based in Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, Houston, New Orleans.
- Travel required 60-80%; candidates must reside within 45 minutes of a major airport.
- Position reports to the National Director of Field Medical.
Compensation includes a base salary of $131,200 - $183,800, plus bonus, stock, and benefits. For more info, visit:
