WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
CloserStill Media is seeking an experienced Head of Sales who wants to join the influence group team. Founded in October 2013 by Michael P. Owens and Michael McCarthy, Influence Group set out to transform the world of B2B events and custom content. Recognizing the diminishing impact of traditional conferences and trade shows, they envisioned a new model—events that business leaders would actually want to attend and where sponsors would see meaningful returns. Over the past decade, influence group has grown from a duo to an international team of diverse and dedicated professionals. influence group has consistently delivered invigorating events, content, and communities that stand out from traditional conferences and trade shows. Job Summary:
The Head of Sales is a strategic leader responsible for driving revenue growth, overseeing the sales organization, and aligning sales strategies with overall business objectives. This role requires a visionary leader with a proven track record in sales management, team development, driving revenue growth and market expansion.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet company revenue goals
  • Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing sales team
  • Establish KPIs, performance metrics and territory strategy
  • Set quarterly and annual sales targets and monitor performance metrics
  • Collaborate with marketing, product, and finance teams to align go-to-market strategies
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities
  • Develop sales strategy for new launches and new markets
  • Oversee key client relationships and participate in high-level negotiations
  • Play a key role in pricing strategy and sales product development
  • Ensure proper utilization of CRM system
  • Prepare and present sales forecasts and performance reports to executive leadership
  • Travel to events to oversee supplier meetings, ensure customer expectation is exceed, support renewal sales and build supplier relationships
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of sales experience, with 5+ years in a leadership role
  • Proven success in building and managing sales teams
  • Strong strategic thinking and data-driven decision-making abilities
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Deep understanding of sales methodologies, pipeline management, and forecasting
  • Familiarity with sales management systems including Salesforce and HubSpot
  • Live event experience
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience in selling into hosted buyer events
  • Track record of expanding into new markets or launching new products
