Overview: U.S. Electrical Testing specializes in electrical acceptance testing, maintenance testing, and commissioning services for mission-critical facilities, secure environments, and industrial clients. Capabilities include emergency response, engineering, and turn-key installation and repair.

Responsibilities

The Commissioning Engineer team performs final testing, startup, and commissioning of electrical distribution equipment, including breakers, transformers, switches, switchgear, relays, and motor control centers. Responsibilities include ensuring safety, contributing to project success, and possibly traveling locally, regionally, or nationally.

  • Assist experienced specialists with electrical deliverables
  • Prepare and review electrical sketches, CX plans, and data sheets
  • Perform routine electrical calculations
  • Review supplier documentation for compliance
  • Access department standards via online resources
  • Understand commissioning, inspection, and testing of electrical components
  • Have basic knowledge of electrical engineering theories and power systems
  • Proficient in technical writing and familiar with industry codes
  • Good communication skills and willingness to travel

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4+ years relevant electrical experience OR associate’s degree + 2+ years OR bachelor’s degree + 1+ years OR 8+ years HS diploma/GED with electrical experience
  • Valid U.S. Work Authorization

Candidate Expectations

  • Experience with electronics installation or maintenance
  • Ability to interpret trade drawings and standards

Desired Qualifications

  • OEM certified training
  • NETA Level III or IV certification preferred
