Position Overview

We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineering Associate to join our Aviation team in Washington, D.C. .

Summary

The Electrical Engineering Associate is responsible for designing, creating project layouts, and preparing contract documents in accordance with company standards and client requirements. Depending on project size, may lead project teams to deliver high-quality work on time and within budget.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Design and specify equipment, facilities, components, and systems for railroad, transit, aviation, and infrastructure projects.
  2. Participate in engineering studies, design analyses, and cost estimates.
  3. Attend client meetings, conduct on-site inspections during construction, and coordinate with contractors and suppliers under senior staff supervision.
  4. Develop drawings, write and review specifications, and prepare calculation reports.
  5. Use engineering design software and equipment for project tasks.
  6. Support less experienced staff in understanding technical policies and procedures.
  7. Contribute to project design execution and seek assistance from senior staff when needed.
  8. Coordinate design efforts with other disciplines and outside consultants.
  9. Review shop drawings, product data, RFIs, and record changes.
  10. Ensure construction and operational activities meet specifications and client needs.
  11. Maintain knowledge of company policies and procedures.

Education & Experience

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 2-4 years of related experience.
  • EIT certification required.
