We are looking for you to join our team as a Manufacturing Engineer based out of Sunnyvale, CA . This is a 5th shift position, working 5:30pm – 5:30am Friday through Sunday and is full-time onsite.
You will support the manufacturing and testing of marine propulsion and power generation systems working on various manufacturing processes for high-value gearing and steam turbine assemblies, machined components, and welded fabrications.
What You'll get to Do:
Develop new processes, improve existing manufacturing processes, and develop the required tooling and fixtures.
Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability and develop best practices.
Develop efficient process flows and sequences of operations, manage bills of materials, create detailed work instructions, process procedures and tooling requirements.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and implementation of new capital equipment.
Select roles will also support final acceptance testing of product and provide technical support to test facility operation.
The ability to support multiple production shifts is required based on the assignment and current and future production schedules.
This position can be filled as a Principal Manufacturing Engineer or Sr. Principal Manufacturing Engineer level depending on experience.
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Manufacturing Engineer:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline with 3 or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
Experience with mechanical assembly processes.
Experience in continuous improvement.
Experience in technical writing.
Ability to work 5:30pm – 5:30am Friday through Sunday.
Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.
US Citizenship.
Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Manufacturing Engineer:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline with 6 or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
Experience with mechanical assembly processes.
Experience in continuous improvement.
Experience in technical writing.
Ability to work 5:30pm – 5:30am Friday through Sunday.
Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.
US Citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications for Both Levels:
Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering.
Active Secret Clearance.
Experience with propulsion and power plant machinery.
Experience with GDT control plan development and execution.
Experience utilizing a modern ERP system.
Manufacturing equipment, product testing and facility operational experience.
Experience leading technical projects requiring project planning and scheduling.
Experience with new product introduction.
Experience with applying Lean Six Sigma principles.
Experience with installation of new equipment in a highly controlled environment.
Experience with materials and heat treatment of materials.
Salary Range: $100,300 - $150,500
