Weston is seeking a Senior Professional Mechanical Engineer with a background in mechanical or civil engineering required for water and wastewater treatment, conveyance systems, pressurized systems, and piping design. The ideal candidate will have a broad range of experience in the design of new as well as renovating existing systems and possess leadership experience working at/with remediation systems, industrial treatment and manufacturing operations, and drinking water. The selected candidate will have a proven track record leading teams in multi-discipline designs and field commissioning operations, with a strong sense of community learning and mentorship.
Location: Various Offices in Houston, Austin, San Antonio or Dallas, Texas; West Chester, PA; Chicagoland Area, IL; or Concord, NH (remote considered for very strong applicants only)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Minimum 15 years related experience.
- Registered Professional Engineer with an active NCEES account and ability to quickly obtain registration in additional states as required.
- Knowledge and experience working for drinking water facilities, wastewater treatment and conveyance, remediation systems, energy providers, and government clients.
- Knowledge in conveyance piping design and pressurized piping design experience in manufacturing facilities, including calculating pump sizes, transient pressures and forces, pipe flow, and head loss.
- Familiarity with environmental consulting, permitting, and compliance experience.
- In-depth knowledge of analysis tools and modeling software to evaluate pipe networks and mechanical systems. Understanding of CAD programs including AutoDesk Civil 3D, REVIT, and Plant3D is a plus.
- Experience preparing, issuing, evaluating, and negotiating construction bids for private and government projects.
- Effective written and oral communication skills for report writing, proposal preparation, and engineering/construction cost estimates.
- Able to complete requests for subcontractor and vendor quotes, develop scopes of work (RFP), evaluate quotes, and manage subcontractors and vendors.
- Able to respond to client RFPs with technical approaches and competitive pricing.
- Able to supervise and direct engineering staff on design and technical tasks.
- Possess (or able to obtain) a security clearance for work at Federal facilities.
- Able to perform site visits and bid walks with effective note-taking and field markups.

- Perform engineering calculations and analyses in conformance with design criteria and quality standards.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and accurately.
- Assist in estimating and tracking project costs, schedules, and deliverables.
- Coordinate and review data, designs, and reports.
- Perform quality control checks on designs.
- Lead proposal efforts and develop project costs.
- Participate in professional societies and interact with clients regarding project tasks.

Salary Range: $96,500 - $128,900 - $161,000
