We’re looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who is strong CAD, Python, mechatronics and analysis skills. Pixel team runs various labs to test various Pixel devices like phones, tablets, hearables and wearables. In order to run the tests, these devices need to be hooked to various test setups, which may not be possible using standard off the shelf accessories. Role involves designing, prototyping these accessories to enable testing of pixel devices in the lab setup.

Responsibilities:

• Design, prototype, and test hardware systems
• Perform FEA (structural, thermal, vibration) and tolerance analysis
• Create detailed engineering drawings and documentation
• Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, and software teams
• Use hand tools, 3D printers, and fabrication methods for quick builds
• Drive projects from concept to execution, often juggling multiple priorities

Requirements:

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
• Experience with Creo or similar CAD tools (SolidWorks a plus)
• Ability to code in Python
• Has solid understanding of mechatronics
• Mechanical analysis and hands-on prototyping experience
• Strong communication & problem-solving skills

Nice to have:

• MS/PhD or 5+ years industry experience
• Robotics or electro-mechanical integration exposure
• Knowledge of microcontrollers, motors, and circuit testing
