This position is hybrid and based in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Optiv+ClearShark has an opportunity for a full-time Sr. System Engineer (SE) to support sales efforts in the DISA/4th Estate territory. Qualified candidates should have strong expertise in areas such as Splunk Platform, Security, Enterprise Networking, Network Security, Firewall Deployment, Data Center, or Network Automation.
The Senior SE designs security solutions using advanced security services and technologies to create scalable and defensible security programs aligned with client initiatives. They possess extensive real-world knowledge, enabling pragmatic security solutions tailored to each environment, and provide consistent security expertise across all sales opportunities. Working with domain specialists, the Senior SE drives thought leadership and innovative cybersecurity solutions leveraging our ecosystem of people, products, and partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive business growth by meeting or exceeding sales quotas, following Optiv’s Standardized Sales Operating Processes (SOPs).
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of clients' security environments, operations, needs, and risk appetite; identify security concerns and align solutions accordingly.
- Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities, qualify leads, and manage proposals through to closure.
- Communicate how Optiv’s portfolio meets client needs at a senior leadership level.
- Stay informed of industry trends to support thought leadership and guidance.
- Collaborate with service delivery teams to ensure comprehensive support and approach consistency.
- Develop security strategies with various client personas, aligning with business goals and budgets.
- Maintain advisory relationships with key stakeholders and foster strong relationships with technology partners.
- Identify emerging technologies for client and internal enablement.
- Represent Optiv at speaking engagements and industry events to promote security awareness and build a trusted network.
- Participate in account planning, forecasting, pipeline management, and proposal processes.
- Continuously develop technical and soft skills through education and certifications.
Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI clearance is required.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 8 years in information security, preferably in consulting, architecture, or engineering roles.
- Expertise in one or more of the following: Splunk, Security, Networking, Firewall Deployment, Data Center, or Automation.
- Self-motivated with strong communication, presentation, and detail-oriented skills.
- Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, CISA, CISM, CCSP are preferred.
