This position will be hybrid and can be hired in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
Optiv+ClearShark has an opportunity for a full-time Sr. System Engineer (SE) to support sales efforts in the DISA/4th Estate territory. Qualified candidates should have strong expertise in areas such as Splunk Platform, Splunk Security, Enterprise Networking, Network Security, Enterprise Firewall Deployment, Data Center, and/or Network Automation. The Senior SE designs security solutions using advanced security services and technologies, aligning with clients’ security initiatives and providing consistent security expertise across sales opportunities. The role involves collaboration with domain specialists, driving thought leadership, and developing cybersecurity solutions leveraging our ecosystem of people, products, and partners.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Drive the generation of services and technologies to meet or exceed quotas, following Optiv’s Standardized Sales Operating Processes.
- Maintain knowledge of the client’s security environment, business operations, and risks; identify security concerns and align solutions accordingly.
- Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities; qualify leads; collaborate on proposals; and participate in sales across Optiv’s portfolio.
- Articulate how Optiv’s solutions meet client needs at a senior leadership level.
- Stay informed on industry trends and the security landscape to support thought leadership and client guidance.
- Collaborate with service delivery to ensure comprehensive support materials.
- Work with various client personas to develop security strategies aligned with business goals and budgets.
- Maintain relationships with key stakeholders and Optiv technology partners.
- Lead the development of complete security programs, including technology and service integration.
- Identify emerging technologies for internal and client exposure.
- Promote Optiv’s portfolio and security awareness through speaking engagements, social media, and networking.
- Gather client feedback for continuous improvement.
- Participate in account planning, forecasting, and pipeline management.
- Manage proposal processes, including RFI/RFP responses and contract negotiations.
- Pursue ongoing personal development through certifications and education.
- Refine sales techniques to build trust, overcome objections, and close sales.
What We’re Looking For
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with relevant experience.
- At least 8 years in an information security role, such as a consultant, architect, or engineer.
- Expertise in one or more of the following: Splunk, Network Security, Data Center, Firewall Deployment, or Network Automation.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and communicative.
- Deep understanding of the threat landscape and defensive controls.
- Strong technical and business acumen, with excellent communication skills.
- Attention to detail in reviewing technical documents.
- Broad security knowledge and a commitment to continuous learning.
- Vendor certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, CISA, CISM, CCSP preferred.
