Position Summary

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in Strategic Management; other teaching assignments may be at the undergraduate or graduate level in management-related classes, such as business administration and international business. Candidates with experience teaching in entrepreneurship is a plus. The standard teaching load is 9 hours per semester (three courses).

Successful candidates will hold an earned Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in Management or Business Administration from an accredited institution with an emphasis in strategic management, or a closely related discipline. Candidates who are ABD at the time of application will also be considered if in a position to complete their doctorate no later than the start date.

Candidates must be able to publish in peer-reviewed management journals and have experience teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels. Candidates must be committed to working for the professional success of all students.

The person who fills the open position must demonstrate a passion for innovative, experiential-oriented teaching and be able to contribute to the strong teaching reputation of the department’s faculty. Faculty are expected to teach in both traditional classroom and online modalities. We seek a candidate with the ability to create new courses as the department innovates and grows, and to incorporate innovative pedagogical approaches into their teaching. Candidates with industry experience are encouraged to apply.
Candidates must maintain an active research agenda and meet university service requirements.

The faculty of the Management, Leadership & HR department have diverse research interests, covering a wide range of topics in management, leadership, human resources international business, strategy, and entrepreneurship.

The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides instruction to undergraduate/graduate students both in-person and online courses.
  • Maintains, develop and schedules student learning experiences to achieve desired learning outcomes.
  • Plans, develops, and implements evaluation tools to assess student process towards course learning objectives.
  • Be familiar with learning management systems, such as Blackboard.
  • Participates in university, college and departmental level service.
  • Conducts research and publishes peer-reviewed journal articles

The salary range for this position is $100,000-110,000

Working Conditions

Normal climate-controlled office environment is provided. Job is largely sedentary, but there is a need to move about the office and buildings frequently. Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling is required (typically less than 10 pounds).
