1. Assistant Professor: Annual Minimum Salary-$91,700-Annual Maximum Salary-$154,000
2. Associate Professor: Annual Minimum Salary-$105,400-Annual Maximum Salary-$177,100
3. Professor: Annual Minimum Salary-$121,300-Annual Maximum Salary-$203,700

Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU) was founded as a 501(c)(3) non-profit medical institution in 2005 aimed at increasing access to health care in medically underserved areas of the Pacific Northwest.

PNWU is located in Yakima, WA, a city of approximately 95,000 located in the south central part of the state near the eastern slopes of the Cascade Mountains in a major agricultural and outdoor recreation region. It is approximately 140 miles from Seattle, 170 miles from Portland, and 200 miles from Spokane. The Yakima Valley is a wonderful place to live, work and play.

The PNWU School of Physical Therapy (SOPT) invites applications for open Assistant/Associate/Professor positions in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. The program seeks contemporary practice expertise and teaching experience in any of the following content areas: foundations of clinical practice, pathophysiology, differential diagnosis, clinical reasoning, pharmacology, radiology, pelvic health, administration and leadership, pediatrics, therapeutic exercise, or research; other areas of contemporary expertise will also be considered. Additional responsibilities will include participating in ongoing curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation; teaching assigned courses; advising and mentoring students; establishing and maintaining a record of research and scholarly activity; providing community service; and participating in program and university committees as appropriate.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• DPT with board certification or terminal academic degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., D.Sc.); all-but-dissertation status will be considered
• Clinical experience (minimum of 3 years) as a physical therapist
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI)
• Eligible for physical therapist licensure in the State of Washington

Preferred Qualifications:

• Academic doctorate degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., D.Sc.)
• Active research agenda and the desire to expand research expertise
• Experience using simulation as an education strategy
• Experience with interprofessional education
• At least 3 years of teaching experience in PT education
• Ability to collaborate with various professionals within a university and clinical/community setting
• Advanced clinical training in the area of expertise with demonstrated teaching and scholarship in the chosen area
• Professional association engagement and commitment to professional and community service
• Knowledge of CAPTE requirements and curriculum development

The SOPT has state-of-the-art facilities and equipment. Students and faculty have access to our Haney Family Center for Applied Movement Science (CAMS) laboratory which serves as a pro-bono neuro-treatment lab for one of our integrated clinical experience courses, as well as clinical research opportunities for faculty and students.

The DPT program received Candidate for Accreditation status by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) in 2021 and will graduate its first cohort in May 2025.
