Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in various insurance defense matters, including:
- Personal Injury: Handle high-exposure bodily injury claims such as motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, and related cases.
- Habitability: Defend property owners and landlords in claims involving unsafe or uninhabitable living conditions.
- Toxic Tort: Manage claims involving exposure to harmful substances such as chemicals, mold, PFAS, and other environmental contaminants.
- Insurance Fraud: Investigate and defend against fraudulent insurance claims to protect clients' interests.
- General Liability: Address liability claims, including slip-and-fall incidents and property damage.
- Class Actions: Defend clients in class action matters.
- Conduct legal research and prepare various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Participate in court appearances, mediations, and settlement conferences.
- Provide strategic legal advice to clients, ensuring their business and legal goals are met.
- Collaborate with colleagues in developing case strategies and achieving favorable outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active membership in the California State Bar.
- 3-8 years of experience in insurance defense or related litigation practice areas.
- In-depth knowledge of civil law, evidence code, and dispute resolution procedures.
- Strong written, verbal, and analytical skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage caseload efficiently.
- A proven track record of achieving positive client outcomes.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
