Job Overview:
A law firm based in Hermosa Beach, CA, is seeking a skilled litigation associate with a minimum of three years’ experience handling a range of civil litigation matters. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex cases involving sophisticated clients in areas such as business disputes, liability defense, and securities litigation. The ideal candidate will bring courtroom experience, strong writing abilities, and the capacity to engage directly with clients. Duties:
- Draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery materials
- Conduct legal research and prepare case strategies
- Take and defend depositions
- Prepare for trial and assist during trial proceedings
- Represent clients in state and federal court appearances
- Participate in mediations, arbitrations, site inspections, and hearings
- Maintain direct communication with clients and internal teams
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of litigation experience across business, general liability, personal injury, or professional liability matters
- Familiarity with procedures in both state and federal courts
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse litigation caseload
- Willingness to travel locally as required
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active membership in the California State Bar
