A prominent law firm in Cincinnati, OH, is seeking a qualified Intellectual Property Associate Attorney with a background in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related fields. This position involves patent prosecution, client consultations, and potential litigation exposure. The ideal candidate will have experience in patent preparation and prosecution, with the technical expertise to handle complex IP issues.
Duties:
- Conduct legal research and analysis related to intellectual property matters.
- Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications with the USPTO.
- Prepare responses to USPTO office actions.
- Engage with clients for interviews and technical information gathering.
- Participate in litigation activities as needed, contributing to strategy and execution.
- Assist in evaluating and protecting client IP portfolios.
- Stay updated on trends and changes in IP law.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in patent preparation and prosecution.
- Licensed to practice law in Ohio and registered with the USPTO.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical or aerospace engineering principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
Certifications:
- Valid license to practice law in Ohio.
- USPTO registration.
Skills:
- Proficiency in patent processes.
- Strong research, analysis, and writing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
