Job Overview:
A prominent U.S.-based law firm is seeking a highly experienced Corporate Aviation Of Counsel to join its Business and Transactions practice group. This role focuses on high-value aviation transactions for a global client base, including airlines, leasing companies, corporate aviation departments, and high-net-worth individuals. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience advising on corporate aircraft acquisitions, financing, structuring, regulatory compliance, and related operational matters.

Duties:
- Lead and manage domestic and cross-border aircraft transactions including purchase, lease, and finance
- Provide legal counsel on FAA regulatory compliance, aircraft registration, and ownership structures
- Advise on tax planning and structuring at the federal, state, and local levels
- Represent clients in transactions involving general aviation and large commercial aircraft, including VIP configurations
- Draft and negotiate transaction documentation, including purchase agreements, lease arrangements, and financing instruments
- Counsel clients through aircraft completion, customization, and maintenance issues
- Independently manage client matters and contribute to business development
- Serve a wide range of clients, such as:
- Commercial and charter airlines
- High-net-worth individuals and family offices
- Banks and leasing companies
- Aircraft manufacturers and aviation service providers
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of corporate aviation legal experience
- Demonstrated ability to advise clients independently and manage transactions from start to finish
- Deep knowledge of aviation regulatory frameworks and financing structures
- Active bar license in the jurisdiction of the chosen office location
- Strong preference for candidates with a portable book of business or client contacts
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school
Certifications:
Active and in-good-standing bar admission in the relevant U.S. state
